The Department of African Languages and Linguistics of the University of Yaoundé I (DALL), in collaboration with SIL Cameroon, is organising the first National Symposium on Cameroonian Languages [NASCAL] (Symposium national sur les langues camerounaises) on 05 and 06 January 2018. Therefore, the organisers announce a call for papers on the theme chosen for this first edition:

This call is open to any linguist, linguistics student or any professional who is interested in Cameroonian langages. Abstracts without name, plus a separate document containing the name, affiliation and contact details of the interested party, should be sent to linguisticadall@yahoo.com by 02 October 2017.

The abstract, which should include a title, must not exceed one page in Times New Roman Font, size 12. Conference talks will consist of 20 minutes of presentation and 10 minutes for questions and answers. Proposals will be accepted in all aspects of linguistics (phonology, morphosyntax, semantics, theoretical analysis, computational linguistics, sociolinguistics, text analysis, multilingual education, self-directed literacy, language policy, etc.).

In addition to plenary sessions and workshops, there will be also be a poster session during which participants will have the opportunity to present the results
of their research as summarized in a written format. Details of the poster display will be given at the time of acceptance.

The symposium will take place at SIL Cameroon’s training centre, which is in Yaoundé, Quartier Mvan, before Tropicana.
