"Your Language is the most precious element in life that still includes all major values of your ancestors. What does that mean for your children, and your grandchildren and their future?"
Our Director of Language Services, Mr. Lawrence M. Seguin, was interviewed on Friday 30 July by the Cameroon Radio Television - CRTV, the national television. He answered questions, in both English and French, on the work we carry out aimed at safeguarding Cameroon’s endangered languages. During the summer holidays, many cultural activities take place during which children are introduced to learning their mother tongue. SIL’s expertise is needed in order to help the general public understand the value of developing mother languages.
This interview on state television was yet another opportunity to recognize SIL Cameroon’s efforts to support the development of languages in Cameroon.
